How a doctors' jihad network led to raids in Australia.

Byline: Cosima Marriner and Tom Allard and Julie Robotham

Jul 03, 2007 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- An Indian doctor working at a Gold Coast hospital may have links to the jihadist group of doctors blamed for recent car bomb attacks in the UK. Australian Federal Police detained Mohamed Haneef, 27, late on 2 July 2007 as he was about to fly out of Australia from Brisbane Airport. They acted after British police informed them that Haneef's mobile telephone SIM card and internet account had been used by a doctor allegedly involved in the attacks in London and at Glasgow airport.
