SA: Judge refuses to set new non-parole period for sex killer

A judge has refused to set a new non-parole period for one of Australia's most notorious
killers .. saying it could lead to the murderer's release from jail.

VON EINEM who is serving a life sentence for the 1983 sex murder of a 15 year-old Adelaide
was this year sentenced to three months jail for possessing child pornography in his cell
.. prompting a review of his non-parole period.

But today South Australian Supreme Court Justice JOHN SULAN has ruled that to impose
a new non-parole period on the 63 year-old would mean the convicted killer would be eligible
to apply for parole.

Just in June this year VON EINEM was deemed a dangerous offender never to be released.
