NSW: Man, 60, dies after speed boat flips

SYDNEY, April 3 AAP - A 61-year-old Tamworth man has died after a speed boat accident
on the Manning River at Taree, on the NSW mid-north coast.

Police said the man was competing in a race when his power boat flipped about 5pm (AEDT)
on Saturday, knocking him unconscious.

Rescue divers pulled him from the water seconds later and began CPR.

He could not be revived, and was pronounced dead at Manning Base Hospital a short time later.

Police are investigating and have seized the boat for mechanical examination.
